Job Objective:

The Italian Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring NetBet’s operations in Italy fully comply with the requirements of the ADM and other applicable laws. The role covers licensing obligations, AML/CTF, advertising restrictions, consumer protection, and safer gambling. Acting as the local compliance focal point, the officer supports the Head of Compliance by implementing internal frameworks, monitoring regulatory changes, preparing reports, and liaising with Italian regulators. The role ensures that business growth is achieved while maintaining integrity, player protection, and regulatory assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance & Advisory:

  • Maintain compliance frameworks tailored to Italian regulatory requirements (ADM rules, Decreto Dignità, advertising/marketing restrictions).
  • Support the implementation of AML, KYC, and Safer Gambling policies in line with Italian and EU standards.
  • Monitor regulatory developments in Italy, assess business impact, and advise management on required changes.
  • Ensure alignment between Group compliance standards and Italian operations.
  • Collaborate with the Group Head of Compliance on regulatory matters in Italy, ensuring alignment of local obligations with group-wide compliance strategy.
  • Prepare and deliver clear reports on Italian regulatory compliance to senior management, highlighting risks, trends, and corrective actions.

Regulatory Engagement:

  • Act as the point of contact for ADM and other Italian authorities.
  • Coordinate regulatory filings, audits, inspections, and periodic reporting obligations.
  • Support the timely submission of mandatory returns and communication with regulators.
  • Manage all PEC communications
  • Fully engaged in all potential audits whether internal or external

Monitoring & Controls

  • Conduct periodic checks on customer accounts, payments, and marketing campaigns for compliance with Italian laws.
  • Review promotional materials, affiliate activity, and sponsorships to ensure compliance with strict Italian advertising restrictions.
  • Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Improve and keep up to date a Compliance Monitoring Program

Training and Awareness:

  • Deliver compliance training to local staff on ADM obligations, AML/CTF, and responsible gaming.
  • Promote a compliance-first culture, ensuring employees understand their duties under Italian law and company policy.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Law, Business, or related discipline highly preferrable
  • 3+ years’ experience in compliance, preferably within the online gambling, fintech, or financial services sector.
  • Familiarity with Italian gambling laws, ADM licensing requirements, AML obligations, and advertising restrictions.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage deadlines and regulatory submissions.
  • Knowledge on ExaLogic platform would be preferable
  • Fluent Italian and English (written and spoken).
